DISPATCHER CAREER GUIDE

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible to Manager of Dispatch for operational control of airline flight operations

Must monitor flight operations, record departure and arrival times of all flights and keep the computer systems up to date

In coordination with the Maintenance Manager(s), must establish and publish to all stations the aircraft routing planned for the day (and any changes thereto)

Must provide required weather information for flight crews

When safe flight operations are assured, must release flight crews to operate flights on their scheduled block

Must coordinate with Ground Operations on any crew or aircraft changes

Must coordinate diversions with Customer Service personnel for the best possible passenger convenience

Must become familiar with the use and intent of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) as per assigned aircraft type

Must record all non-routine incidents in the station log, and complete appropriate forms, Irregularity Reports, etc.

When necessary, must initiate Emergency procedures and notification

Must exercise operational control

Must coordinate any unscheduled operation of Republic Airways subsidiaries' aircraft with all appropriate parties

Must perform additional duties as assigned by the Company

REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 23 years of age
Must have Aircraft Dispatcher’s License
