Shuttle America to become
USAirways Express Carrier


New Aircraft, New Destination, Key Step in Completion
of Restructuring Plan




WINDSOR LOCKS, CT---For Release October 9, 2001, US Airways and Shuttle America announced today a code-sharing partnership with expanded nonstop service between Boston’s Hanscom Airfield (Bedford, MA) and Trenton/Mercer Airport
and new nonstop service from Hanscom to US Airway’s hub at Philadelphia International Airport. Both the code sharing agreement and the new service to Philadelphia will begin October 24, 2001. 

"The new US Airways Express flights will allow Boston area passengers an opportunity to connect to US Airways hundreds of flights at Philadelphia International," said Thomas M.Handley US Airways Express vice president. "Shuttle America’s years of experience and convenient alternative airport locations will bring greater value and more travel choices to our customers in the busy
northeast corridor."


David Hackett, Shuttle America’s Chief Executive Officer said, "our partnership with US Airways marks the launch of an exciting new era for our Company, which includes the acquisition of additional Dash-8 aircraft and the new service to Philadelphia International." Hackett said the fleet expansion and code-sharing pact are the final two steps in Shuttle America’s restructuring program which began in April. Shuttle America is being acquired by Shuttle Acquistion LCP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wexford Capital LLC, a Connecticut-based investment firm.  The acquisition should be completed by early December, subject to completion of the restructuring process, creditor and court approval. Hackett added, "this is an exciting day for our customers, the communities we serve and our terrific Shuttle America employees." Shuttle America will remain an
independent corporate entity.

Effective October 24, 2001 Shuttle America will offer 5 daily roundtrips between Boston’s Hanscom Airfield (BED) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) a major hub for US Airways. There passengers will be able to make easy connections to destinations throughout the U. S. Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. Shuttle America will also provide 6 daily roundtrip flights between Boston/Hanscom Airfield and Trenton/Mercer
Airport (TTN.) Passengers on both routes will enjoy comfortable cabin class service on 37-seat DeHaviland Dash-8 turboprops and also be eligible to earn US Airways Dividend Miles in conjunction with their travel.
